It had been 90 years.
In 2024, under the guidance of Dr. Paul Silka, a group of dedicated swimmers and volunteers decided it was time to bring back The Swim Across The Columbia - a classic event of the Astoria Regatta! 🌊Don't want to take the plunge into the Columbia River but still want to be part of the action? Stay tuned for more splash-free adventures where you can run, skip, or dance across the finish line without ever getting wet!
Event Highlights:
Stay Dry Swim: Cross the finish line with style, but stay on dry land!
Free Drink & Swag: Every registration comes with a complimentary drink and some cool swag! (Kids can participate with parents in photos and the costume contest for free!)
Costume Contest: Show off your creativity! Dress up in your most imaginative outfit for a chance to win awesome prizes.

The Astoria Regatta invite you to get moving by joining the Fun Run. This 1-mile run along the Grand Land Parade route in downtown Astoria is a great way to get your steps in before enjoying the parade.
You can register on the day of the event at 16th and Exchange St. in Astoria at 11:00 a.m.

A favorite event at the Regatta Festival, the Highwater Boat Parade takes place on the Columbia River. This parade features a variety of boats including service groups, the commercial industry, and sports crafts just to name a few. Be sure to catch the Regatta Court on the Bar Pilot’s boat leading the parade. You can view the parade from many restaurants on the water as well as docks along the riverfront.
